How to play Two Truths and a Lie
- Add the players (3 minimum) — everyone takes a turn narrating.
- The narrator privately writes 2 truths and 1 lie about themselves, then marks which one is false.
- The other players secretly vote on which one they think is the lie — the narrator doesn't vote for themselves.
- The reveal shows the right answer: every correct voter scores a point, and the narrator scores a point for every player they fooled.
- The narrator role rotates until every active player has had a turn.
Frequently asked questions
- What's the minimum number of players?
- Three. Below that there's no vote left to have — just one person making claims into the void.
- Can the narrator vote?
- No, they already know the answer. Voting would be about as useful as betting on a match whose final score you already have.
- How is scoring worked out?
- Double scoring: every player who spots the lie gets a point, and the narrator gets a point for every player they managed to fool.
